The fifth day of the NSS Camp at CMLP School, Pallichal, was conducted with great enthusiasm and meaningful activities aimed at social service, environmental awareness, and cultural exploration.
The day began with the usual morning exercise, which energized the NSS volunteers and prepared them for the day’s programs. After the exercise session, the volunteers proceeded to Ittamal Anganwadi to conduct the program “Snehaanganam.” As part of this initiative, the volunteers actively participated in renovating the Anganwadi premises. They also spent quality time with the children, engaging them in joyful interactions. The introduction of new toys and books brought happiness to the children and significantly transformed the atmosphere of the Anganwadi, making it more lively and welcoming.
In the afternoon, the program “Harithasaakshyam” was conducted at the school. Members of the Haritha Karma Sena visited the venue and interacted with the NSS volunteers. The session focused on environmental protection and plastic waste management. The Haritha Karma Sena members shared their experiences in collecting plastic waste from households, ensuring proper segregation, storage, and disposal. Their dedication towards eradicating plastic pollution has played a crucial role in improving the environmental conditions of the locality.
The interaction was enriched by the presence of Mrs. Kanagamani MV, Mrs. Usha, and Mrs. Sheeja K, members of the Haritha Karma Sena. They inspired the volunteers through their words and concluded the session by singing a beautiful song, which left a lasting impression on everyone present.
Following this, the “Gramapadham” program was organized, focusing on exploring the cultural and historical aspects of the village. Mr. Sajid Pallichal guided the students and provided valuable insights into the culture, heritage, and traditions of the place. This session helped the volunteers develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the local history and community life.
The day concluded in the evening with a variety of cultural programs. The performances showcased the talents of the NSS volunteers and added a festive and joyful spirit to the camp.
Overall, Day 5 was highly productive and inspiring, as it combined social service, environmental awareness, cultural learning, and entertainment, making it a memorable experience for all the participants.
