Progressive English School successfully conducted the School Council Election 2026–27, with the Junior Section election held on 9 July 2026 and the Senior Section election on 10 July 2026.
A remarkable highlight of this year's election was the introduction of student-designed Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), making it a historic first in the school's history. The EVMs were designed and developed by the students under the guidance of ATL and Computer Instructor, Ms. Sufaija, providing students with a real-life experience of a modern democratic election process.
Candidates filed their nominations with the Returning Officer, Ms. Beefathu, and the election was conducted smoothly, fairly, and transparently, reflecting the true spirit of democracy.

Students participated enthusiastically, displaying responsibility, leadership, and a deep respect for democratic values. The election served as an inspiring platform for nurturing leadership skills, teamwork, and civic awareness.
The success of the School Council Election was made possible through the guidance and support of the Principal, Vice Principals, Head Teachers, teachers and the Election Committee.Their efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the election and encouraged students to participate actively in the democratic process
The School Council Election 2026–27 will be remembered as a landmark event in the history of Progressive English School—not only for its successful implementation of student-made Electronic Voting Machines but also for celebrating innovation, democracy, and student leadership.
