The Day 1 activities of the NSS Camp of Wadihuda Higher Secondary School began with the registration of NSS volunteers at CMLP School, Pallichal. This was followed by the flag hoisting ceremony conducted by Mr. Farooq Usman, Director, WHSS, marking the formal commencement of the camp.
A Proclamation Rally was then organized to create public awareness and was flagged off by Mr. Sajith Kumar P.K., Principal of WHSS. Subsequently, a community canvassing programme against drug abuse was inaugurated by Mrs. Mallika Swathi, Artist, highlighting the importance of a drug-free society. The volunteers actively participated in spreading awareness and promoting social responsibility.
Later, an interactive ice-breaking session led by Mr. Nasrul Islam energized the students, helping them overcome hesitation and develop confidence and teamwork.
In the evening, the official inauguration of the NSS Camp was held. The function began with a welcome address by Mr. Sajith Kumar P.K., Principal of WHSS, and was presided over by Ward Member Mr. K. Mohanan. The camp was formally inaugurated by Mr. M. Vijin, Honorable MLA.
Ms. Anitha P.P., Programme Officer, presented an overview of the camp activities and objectives. The Snehanganam programme was inaugurated by Mrs. Nisha T., Block Panchayat Member. Six Anganwadi students, along with their teacher, participated in the programme.
Felicitation addresses were delivered by Mr. Farooq Usman, Director, WHSS; Mr. Sajid Pallichal, CMLP School Committee Member; and Mr. Abdul Salam, Palli Committee Member. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Nesa Fatima, NSS Leader.
Following the inaugural session, the “Digital Unarv” programme was conducted by Vice Principal Mr. Shuhaib S.V.P. The day concluded with a cultural programme presented by the students in the evening, which added vibrancy and enthusiasm to the camp.
The activities of Day 1 significantly motivated the students and helped elevate their mindset towards greater social awareness and responsibility.
