As part of Reading Day, various programmes were conducted at Progressive English School on 19 June 2026 for students from Fly2 to Class VIII
To create awareness about the importance of reading among students, Mr. Pavithran.RC, Faculty,Malayalam delivered a radio message. Reading Day speeches were conducted, and Class Libraries were inaugurated in the Junior Section.
Students participated in reading card preparation, exhibitions, and a book exhibition that introduced them to some of the most famous books in Malayalam literature.
To familiarise students with contemporary and emerging Malayalam writers, creative activities such as poster-making and bulletin board competitions were organised. Students also recited poems highlighting the importance of reading and developing a reading habit.
Special events were conducted for Fly2 & Fly 3 students, including a Character Dress-up activity and Grandparent Storytelling, which made the celebration more engaging and enjoyable for the children.
The programmes aimed to encourage students to cultivate a lifelong love for reading and to appreciate the richness of Malayalam literature.
