The Onam celebrations at our school on 13th September were marked with enthusiasm and joy, bringing the essence of Kerala's rich culture to life. The day started with the preparation of a beautiful flower carpet (Pookalam), which was set up in the school campus. Students were encouraged to bring locally available flowers from home, which were creatively arranged to create a vibrant and intricate design, symbolizing the festive spirit of Onam.
In addition to the flower carpet, the students took part in various traditional games, making the day even more enjoyable. Games such as Lemon and Spoon, Musical Chair, Balloon Games, Cup Games, and the ever-popular Tug-of-War were organized, and students participated with great excitement and energy. The tug-of-war competition was con- ducted squad-wise, adding a sense of friendly competition among the students.
The celebration was truly a treat for the students, providing them with a chance to relive the traditions and cultural practices of the past. The event not only brought joy but also reminded the students of the significance of Onam and Kerala's rich cultural heritage. Overall, it was a day filled with fun, laughter, and a deep connection to the cultural roots. creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
